築60年の木造アパートを活用した創造活動拠点＜新・福寿荘＞。2014年度より、元居住空間という特性を活かしたアーティストインレジデンス事業をスタート。初年度はアーティストユニット・パラモデルの中野裕介を招聘し、プロジェクトを展開しました。
約2年かけて行った本事業では、中野が近年関心を抱き続けている、能楽・謡曲『弱法師（よろぼし）』とその主人公・俊徳丸少年の伝説、そして、その舞台となった四天王寺のすぐ近くに位置する＜新・福寿荘＞周辺地域へのリサーチをベースに、アパートの一室を昨品化しています。
中野の新作として発表した「レジデンス・パラ陽ケ丘」は、西日の射し込むその一室を、盲目の俊徳丸の頭部に見立て、彼が心の眼で感じ歓喜したと言われる夕日の光や、地域の地層深くに眠る物語に思いをめぐらせ、うつろう光とともにイマジネーションに満ちた時間を体験する滞在型作品となります。春と秋限定のナイトステイプログラムとして公開。参加者には、作品の構想に関連する四天王寺までのまち歩きガイドマップを進呈し、作家本人によるおすすめのルートとチェックポイントをもとに、「新・福寿荘」周辺のまち全体を楽しめるプログラムとして実施しました。

In 2014, an artist-in-residence program was launched at our base, Shin-Fukujuso--a 60-year-old wooden apartment building--making use of the functions of this former residential complex. Nakano Yusuke of Paramodel was invited as the inaugural resident artist.
Nakano transformed one of the apartment units into an installation based on research conducted over a two-year period. His work draws on the Noh / yōkyoku theatre piece Yoroboshi, the legendary protagonist Shuntokumaru, and the area surrounding Shitennō-ji Temple--where the story is set--which overlaps with the location of Shin-Fukujuso.
His new work, Residence·Parahigaoka, took the form of an overnight participatory performance in which visitors could stay in the room and experience the passage of time shaped by shifting light and imagination. The installation evokes a space where the setting sun enters as if into the mind of the blind Shuntokumaru, conjuring the dusk he might have perceived through his inner vision, alongside local stories layered beneath the surface of history.
The work was open to visitors during the spring and autumn seasons. Participants were given a map suggesting routes and key sites in the surrounding area, developed in relation to the artist's research and the conceptual framework of the project.
(The overnight program concluded prior to the demolition of Shin-Fukujuso in 2019.)

林泰彦（2001年 京都市立芸術大学構想設計専攻卒業）と中野裕介（2002年 同大学大学院絵画専攻日本画修了）からなるアートユニット。2001年より活動開始、2003年にユニット名を「パラモデル」に。共に東大阪出身。得意領域や趣向の異なるパラレル [parallel] な２人が、『パラモデル [paramodel]：世界や心の様々な部品から組み立てる、詩的な模型／設計図』というコンセプトを核に共存、互いの視差 [parallax] と関係性を生かし、２人による「模型遊び」という要素をベースに、多様な形式で作品を制作。
近年の主な個展に、「パラモデルの 世界はプラモデル : THE WORLD ACCORDING TO PARAMODEL」（西宮市大谷記念美術館、2010）、「パラの模型／ぼくらの空中楼閣」（銀座メゾンエルメス、2013）、「UとP展」（MORI YU GALLERY TOKYO、2014）、「Paramodel」（University of Michigan of Art (UMMA)／アメリカ、2014）。主なグループ展に、「世界制作の方法」（国立国際美術館／大阪、2011）、「赤塚不二夫マンガ大学展」（京都国際マンガミュージアム、2011）、「稲垣足穂 一千一秒物語 展」（喜多ギャラリー／奈良、2012）、「東京駅復元工事完成記念展 始発電車を待ちながら」（東京ステーションギャラリー、2012）、「アジアンパシフィックトリエンナーレ (APT7) 」（Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) and Queensland Art Gallery (QAG)／オーストラリア、2012）、「MOTアニュアル2014 フラグメント ー未完のはじまり」（東京都現代美術館、2014）など多数。
